Q This assignment has two options from this week's Assigned Films, you only need to choose ONE option. To give you the true context for the scene that is the subject of this assignment, I strongly advise you to please watch the whole film before attempting this assignment. The two films are: Casablanca, (1942) written by Julius and Philip Epstein and Howard Koch, and directed by Michael Curtiz. The Shawshank Redemption, (1994) written and directed by Frank Darabont. This assignment also requires you to read two short excerpts of the same scene, and watch the finished scene from the film whichever choose.

The comparison between the two excerpts gave a deeper Insight in the way the movie was presented. The play excerpts are comparatively smaller than the movie script. Some names are changed. Rick’s character in the play and in the movie are completely different. In the play he is straight forward and that is understandable in the tone. In the play script Rick appears to the negative character but in the movie script he appears to be heroic, especially during the time when he asks the band members to play the song, even if that meant risking a lot many things. There were changes made so that the movie script looked more appealing and they could keep an everlasting effect of the audience. The exchange of dialogues
